The Sky is Not Our Limit. Its Where We Aim to Start.

About Us - Silverband Falconry Cumbria UK

Who are we?
Started by Richard And Jacinta Cooper, who between them have 30 years experience with Falconry, Exotic Animals and caring for injured Wildlife. Silverband Falconry now employs 7 People.

The business was started with the intention of protecting Birds Of Prey and their habitat and has mushroomed from there, due to our entertaining and down to earth style.

Home Sweet Home
Set on the edge of the Eden Valley at the foot of the Pennines 10 miles from Junction 40 on the M6. Our base offers you the chance to spend the day in some of the country's most beautiful scenery,
whilst providing us with some spectacular countryside to train and fly birds to their full potential

Richard Cooper & Baldrick The Buzzard
The Bird that started it all for Richard back in 1989. Here they are reunited in the summer of 2005. Richard is our Master Falconer and assesor for the Lantra Beginning Falconry Award with
20 years practical experience with Birds of Prey and wildlife rehabilitation. Sadly Baldric died a few months after this picture was taken.

Jacinta Cooper & Moss The Common Buzzard
One of the birds she has trained for a regular corporate client. Jacinta is our Education and Events Coordinator and will coordinate with you to make your event a success.

Nikki Cooper & Bert the European Eagle Owl
Nikki has had the advantage of growing up with the animals and has years of experience working with our birds of prey. She tends to work more behind the scenes at the moment but has worked both in shows and on courses.

Tracey Cooper & Burdock the Bengal Eagle Owl

A bird she has reared and now spends most evenings at shows with.
Growing up with the birds has also been a big advantage for Tracey. She works with all our birds but specialises in the rehabilitation of injured owls and cares for all our owls at Silverband. Tracey is the first person at Silverband to pass the Lantra Beginning Falconry Award

James Field & Norman the Peregrine X Lanner Falcon
James joined the team in May 2007. He came to us from Eden Priory which gave him a lot of experience of interacting with children which makes him great at displays. Why is he so good with the kids? Could it be because he has the same mental age?

Darren Johnston and Herbie the Armadillo

Darren has come to us from Edinburgh, where he was already a keen amatuer Herpetologist. Since starting with us he has been well and truely biten by the bug and is just finishing off the Lantra Beginning Falconry Award before starting to train his first Harris Hawk.
