Mini Beasts - Silverband Falconry Cumbria UK

Jacinta has always had a passion for exotic animals, so to develop a selection of packages to do with exotic animals and beasties seemed like a natural progression, especially after the success of our Bird of Prey Awareness and Conservation Packages.

After starting in schools we found a huge demand for our sessions which are both fun and informative.

Don't let the fact that you feel your venue may not be suitable affect your further enquires.

Contact us and we will discuss what we can do to meet your needs.

The services we offer are varied. Follow the links above to find out what we can offer with these strange and well adapted animals.

All of our activities involve hands on experiences for those who are willing to try.

Our Wildlife interpreters are highly trained and never force guests to handle animals they don't feel comfortable with.

Meets a Student at a Secondary School

Who might you meet

Dude, Chav and Chavette the Bearded Dragons these guys are great and always cause a stir with their Dragon Racing routine and hunting ability. Fabulous lizards which originally come from Australia.
Kellog the Corn Snake a wonderful snake who gets her name from the settlers in America when they saw them hunting in the corn fields. Kellog was given to us as a adult and has been visiting schools ever since.
Cleopatra and Stingaling the Emperor Scorpions. These are the largest scorpions in the world and live in Jungles. Ever seen an animal glow in the dark? These two do and, we can show you how with our scorpion magic.

Brian the Giant African Land Snail as the name suggests Brian comes from Africa and is one of the largest snails in the world being about the same size as a mans fist. He is great for people to handle being one of the slowest animals we have.

Stick Insects too many to name, these come from India and spend their entire time eating privet and laying eggs. There is no mating involved as they are all female and produce copies of themselves.

Bob and his 50 wives who are all Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches the largest cockroaches and some of the most indestructible animals in the world they make wonderful parents and actually care for their young. Believe it or not they come from Madagascar just off the coast of Africa.
Arthur the King Snake a fairly recent addition to the team these snakes come from America and are capable of killing Rattlesnakes and eating them. Arthur is settling in to sessions now and you will often see him on family visits

Tommy the Leopard Tortoise. Still small Tommy has quite a lot of growing to do and should end up being about 50 or 60 cm long. They are native to the plains of Africa and have an unusual method of defending themselves if an animal thinks it can break through that hard shell.
